A campaign to raise awareness of EDS, in light
I was approached by CTDNA (Connective Tissue Disorders Network Australia) to support their campaign during EDS Awareness month.
EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) affects up to 1 in 500 Australians but it often takes over a decade to diagnose. CTDNA are hoping to shed light on this issue and I was honoured to volunteer my time, and to call on the help of Goondiwindi Lanescape to let us take over the permanent projection system in Goondiwindi as a one off.

In between projects I am working on the text and images for the training programs for the projection systems in outback SA. This is a sneak preview of an introduction. Hoping to have the entire suite finished by the end of May and ready to launch. It means we will be able to offer training to many more community members so they can support their local projection.
A network of regional Art Tourism sites
This is an overview of the permanent projection sites I have helped to set up in Regional SA, and it is my goal to help pull together new funding and investment to create new stories for these sites and communities.
I nearly fell off my perch!
I was attending the Australian Street Art Awards remotely as I was really keen to hear whether Quorn Silo Light Show would win an award. Not only did Quorn win Gold (for best ‘Mega Mural’ in Australia), but also I received a personal discretionary award for my contribution to regional Arts Tourism. I know, you know, we all know that everything I’ve been proudly associated with has been a huge team effort, and it has been appreciated by everyone I work with.
Bush Foods Cook Off 3175
This was a fun project I produced during the Constellation Stories in Light project, and its had a new showing in Quorn during the annual Quandong festival (very appropriate!). Alysha Herrman the writer expresses so beautifully what we hoped to capture through this digital story.
Constellation Stories in Light
Constellation has been one of the most epic projects I have worked on and one of the best examples of regional partnership and collaboration.
For a month long activation, illuminart’s vibrant regional projections blazed to life simultaneously at five unique landmarks, in a 1000 km long story trail across regional South Australia.
People of all ages and far-flung places visited all five Constellation sites to experience this special intervention of animated stories combining local knowledge, ideas and creativity transporting them into an epic science-fiction adventure.

I’m so excited to see what my amazing colleagues at illuminart dreamed up. It is a complete and beautiful enclosure for permanent projection and lighting systems, absolutely tailored to the harsh Australian environment. Its also aesthetically NICE compared to the giant boxes that I have seen people import from overseas (which overheat or fog up). Here’s the first one fully installed and operational in Port Pirie. More on their way, which means: more outdoor digital art for remote places!
A bit of background
Welcome… a lot of people ask me how I came to end up being a projection artist and creative producer, and how that has led to my interesting work supporting regional communities around Australia, with arts and tourism projects. It would take a long time to share all the experiences I’ve had, but if you don’t mind the condensed version, read on, and I’ll share a little of my story.

Due to Covid restrictions we can’t have a public launch! What’s ironic about this, is that Quorn Silo Light Show is a new attraction that people can safely social distance while they are viewing. While we won’t have a minister attending to cut a ribbon, we do have some wonderful times seeing people make a special trip to Quorn just to see this fantastic illuminart Stories in Light project.
