A campaign to raise awareness of EDS, in light

I was approached by CTDNA (Connective Tissue Disorders Network Australia) to support their campaign during EDS Awareness month.

EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) affects up to 1 in 500 Australians but it often takes over a decade to diagnose. CTDNA are hoping to shed light on this issue and I was honoured to volunteer my time, and to call on the help of Goondiwindi Lanescape to let us take over the permanent projection system in Goondiwindi as a one off.

For four nights only (15-18 May 2025), this bespoke light show transforms the Goondiwindi McLean Street Water Towers into a beacon representing connective tissue, and pathways to diagnosis.

Individuals with EDS may experience a wide range of symptoms, including hypermobility (excessive joint flexibility), chronic pain, fatigue, digestive issues, and more. These symptoms can appear unrelated, making diagnosis challenging.

We can help Connective Tissue Disorders Network Australia raise awareness in the medical professions, to help faster diagnosis.

My work involved designing and animating this projection and liaising with the Lanescape committee and the CTDNA leaders to complete the project and also to coordinate with illuminart team members who uploaded the project and supported the promotion. My thanks to everyone who helped make this possible.
